We are sight casting to red fish schools in the flats catching and releasing all fish. The fish range from trout, flounder and red fish.
All are tugging the eight weight fly rods and testing the drags of the fly reels. The sea trout are eating small flies. Large red fish are caught in throughout tide phases on many fly patterns. Small shrimp fly patterns are our favorite!
We are returning to Everglades City Florida in March. The snook and red fish pictured below were caught/released in March. The weather was cool temperatures and high winds. We were successful and saw very few anglers daring the three day trip
Many snook, red fish and some tarpon were "snouting" our flies in the remote back county of the Everglades. We had to see the bite in order to set the hook before the fish spit out the fly. Fun!!!
